“口误；一时说错话”。指说话时不小心把词、名字或信息说错（通常是无意的），有时也可暗示无意间说出了心里真实想法。（也常写作复数：slips of the tongue。）

Slip 原意有“滑动、失手、差错”之意，tongue 指“舌头/语言”。合起来字面是“舌头一滑”，引申为说话时不慎出错。该表达在英语中由来已久，常用于礼貌地为说错话“降温”、缓和尴尬。
